Today we want to introduce you to Jasmina Paric for our employee spotlight focus.
Jasmina Paric is our Danish Team Leader and currently leads a team of 10 Danish speaking agents. She started with DDC MLS in October 2015 and was the first Danish speaking member.
Jasmina discusses her time so far at DDC MLS; “What I like about working here is the team ethic, with all striving to set and achieve clear and compelling goals. Not to mention the happy and lively atmosphere. We are lucky to have so many young and creative people here, possessing excellent language skills. “
Born in Srebrenica in Bosnia, Jasmina is a Bosnian native, but at an early age, her whole family moved to Denmark near Copenhagen. Jasmina lived there for 12 years and attended the local grammar school, where Danish became a native language for her.
8 years ago, Jasmina returned to Sarajevo and began to study English at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. She now holds an MA in English Language & Literature, as her plan was to become an English Teacher. Her love of Shakespeare is evident when I asked Jasmina about her favourite piece of English literature; she doesn’t hesitate as she tells me that she loves Hamlet, both the play and the character himself, not least because of the connection to her second home of Denmark.
During her time of study, she also worked for the OSCE as a short-term interpreter during the General Elections in 2010 and 2014. Furthermore, while writing her MA thesis, Jasmina worked as an English teacher, helping children from the “Bjelave Orphanage” with their homework.
Jasmina regularly visits Denmark as her father still resides there. She also plans to visit England in the future and of course the home of Shakespeare is high on her agenda.
