THE CLIENT



Spark Energy launched itself as an energy provider in 2007. The company predominantly used lettings agents and housing associations to get to market, so their customer base was limited to consumers in rented accommodation. Although they are still considered a small business within the utilities sector, they now supply energy to 300,000 customers and aim to offer the best prices without all of the ‘red tape’ that comes with some of the larger companies.

THE CHALLENGE



Spark were looking to increase their customer base significantly, and approached IPT to purchase the data for use on an outbound sales campaign. At this time they were still researching prospective outbound call centres to undertake the campaign on their behalf. Spark made an agreement with IPT to supply the data, and during these discussions, IPT recommended using DDC OS instead of doing the customer acquisition in-house. Spark had never undertaken an outbound sales campaign before and were looking for a partner that would guide them through the process, including all of the potential compliancy issues that they had never dealt with before.

DDC OS have proven to be a highly valuable partner throughout the time we have been working with them. Our initial campaign proved so successful, we have now trebled the headcount working on the campaign.

THE SOLUTION



DDC OS created a tailored process for Spark Energy using their wealth of experience in this area. We set up all technical aspects of the campaign using their IT team, recruited and trained agents specifically for the campaign, and ensured that the whole process was compliant with OFCOM standards. When DDC OS first started working for Spark Energy they had 4 Agents, this has now grown to over 14 Agents with a Team Leader and Quality Checker.
