National Apprenticeship Week

As it’s National Apprenticeship Week, DDC Outsourcing Solutions (DDC OS) are taking time to reflect and celebrate how Apprenticeships and training initiatives impact our business…

During National Apprenticeship Week, we want to acknowledge why offering employees the opportunity to undertake training whilst in their role is so important.

Firstly, we have found that the individuals are more confident and have a more positive attitude and approach to learning which has been exciting for us to witness as a company. Our learners can clearly see the benefits that ‘on the job’ training and apprenticeships can offer; gaining a qualification in the workplace, without debt, and indeed whilst earning a salary; not to mention the new opportunities within DDC OS that they have access to during and after completing their course.

Many team members who have worked within our company whilst training, are also deeply passionate about changing some of the perceptions that exist of apprenticeships and training within the workplace, and openly talk about how they overcame this very challenge with their parents, friends, and family. Their experiences drive them to work with us to change those views, as they have experienced all the positive aspects that initiatives like an apprenticeship have to offer.

We are currently offering a range of qualifications in Business Administration, Customer Services, and Team Management. We have four of our team completing their Business Administration, two undertaking their Level 2 in Customer Service, two learners embracing a level 5 qualification in Operational Management and one person completing their Level 2 Team Leader course. It’s fantastic for us to see that we have a waiting list for qualifications; as each year passes by, our employees are seeing more and more benefits to upskilling themselves through work-based learning.

From a DDC OS perspective, we have gained clear business benefits from our apprentices and employees who have undergone additional training as they bring a fresh perspective – new skills, innovation, enthusiasm, and diversity to our ways of thinking. By investing in qualifications and apprenticeships, we have provided new opportunities and contributed to addressing the skills shortage within the UK. Not only that but developing our employees from within aligns with our company’s corporate values and it gives us great pride to see our employee’s careers grow within our organisation. This avenue is definitely not to be discounted when making career choices and when setting the overall talent strategy.

DDC OS has had many individuals on the programme and the waiting list is forever growing to allow for everyone to have the opportunity to build new skills, knowledge, and behaviours.

Be sure to follow DDC OS to meet some of our team members this week, and to see updates on this years’ National Apprenticeship week, follow the hashtag #NAW2021
