The Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation (DRWF) is a registered charity which works to raise public awareness and provide funding for research into Diabetes. The funds DRWF raise allow the charity to support researchers in the UK and around the world who aim to improve understanding, treatment and ultimately find a cure.

In addition to funding research, DRWF provides NHS England Information Standard accredited health information in order to support people in their self-management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. The charity also provides a programme of Diabetes Wellness events, focused on providing the necessary education and skills to face the challenges that life with diabetes can present.

The challenge

DRWF required a robust solution to handle the postal responses from their direct mail appeals. DDC CS’s specialist knowledge of the charity sector allows us to provide efficient and cost-effective management of administrative services for DRWF including receipt and the opening of post, banking donations, Gift Aid status capture, and customer service for DRWF’s supporters. In 2016 DDC CS processed over 87,000 donation responses for DRWF.

By taking care of this aspect of the charity’s work, it means they can concentrate their efforts on fundraising and delivery of their support programmes, and of course their ultimate goal of finding a cure.

The solution

DDC CS work with DRWF’s existing data platform provider and liaise directly with this provider in order to provide the best possible service to the charity.
