THE CLIENT



ARP Research is a leading provider of survey research and consultation services for the housing sector, and can count a considerable number of UK Housing Associations and Councils among its clients. ARP Research was formed in 2010 as a successor to Priority Research, and has a strong track record for delivering actionable research findings. DDC OS initially started working with Priority Research in 2005 and have stayed as a partner through the move into ARP Research.

THE CHALLENGE



Priority Research had always processed their data internally, and they were looking for a company they could outsource to for several reasons; they wanted to become more efficient in this area and felt that outsourcing this would allow them to do so, whilst still offering best value for their clients. Also, they wanted to have the flexibility to increase and decrease capacity when it was required.

Trust and flexibility are important for any ongoing business relationship, and the fact we have both is why our strong partnership with DDC OS has now entered into its second decade!

THE SOLUTION



All ARP surveys come through the DDC OS Data Solutions Centre via dedicated freepost addresses, with returns logged and batched in a variety of ways depending on the project, enabling ARP to keep their clients informed on progress at every stage. This also gives ARP the flexibility to process some of the smaller scale returns internally if required.

All documents have their URNs (unique reference numbers) captured as part of an ongoing process to enable one or more repeat follow up mailing for non-respondents, with daily scanning of returns allowing the contents to be sent for capture.

The content captured is generally a mixture of tick boxes and handwritten text, and each survey can be up to 20 A4 pages long. Both the final data and the scanned image files are uploaded to our secure server for ARP to use in their reporting.

Working in partnership with DDC OS allows the research company to concentrate on the core business and manage peaks and troughs of different sized surveys without having to adapt staff levels accordingly. It is a transparent solution that allows ARP to monitor returns and view document images with ease, and allows them to offer a cost effective, accurate, secure and timely service to their end clients.
